Dermasuri Deep Exfoliating Mitt Review

The first thing you will notice about the Dermasuri mitt is how smart it looks. The box alone looks really snazzy, and makes for a quality looking gift (hint fellas!). But let’s dig beneath the packaging and find out what you get for your money.

The mitt itself also looks smart and well made. I particularly like the colors they’ve chosen, it looks salon smart rather than girly pretty. Oh, and it does come with a loop so you can easily hang it to dry properly.

NOTE: I’m pretty sure you will love any products I recommend here as much as me. But just so you know, my website may receive a small share of the retail price if you decide to buy after following a link on my site. Obviously this does not change my opinion of any product or the price you pay.

So Why Do I Need One Of These Again?

Look, if you haven’t used this kind of deeper exfoliation mitt before, you’ve been missing out! This is NOT like using a gentle body scrub and spa gloves. This thing gets results you can see happening!

How? Because this kind of body scrubbing mitt doesn’t just clean the surface of your skin. Instead it delivers a deeper exfoliation that will allow you to actually see the old and dead skin slough off of your body when you use it in the shower or the bath.

And those benefits go beyond removing all the dead skin cells from your body. It can also help with:-

  • anti-aging by stimulating collagen and improving blood circulation
  • unclogging pores and evening out skin tone
  • reducing the chances of ingrown hair (shaving and waxing)

And of course, because all the dead skin cells have been removed, you can see an immediate glow in your skin, while also making you feel rejuvenated.

How Is This Different?

There are a lot of other products available on the market that look a bit like this, that do cost less – the ever popular buff puff, the regular exfoliating shower gloves and then of course there is the body brush for dry brushing before a shower etc.

But while these other products might be cheaper (many are not!), in my opinion they don’t even come close to achieving the results a proper deep exfoliator mitt can. You can actually the dead skin rolling away – it sounds a little unpleasant, but it feels soft and does NOT leave you sore at all.

This is not sandpapering yourself red raw with a loofah!

How Do I Use It?

The Dermasuri mitt comes with directions for use – DO follow them as you will have a far better result than if you just ‘wing it’. And as the instructions recommend, whilst this is awesome for your body I wouldn’t use this on your face. You could probably get away with it if you don’t have sensitive skin, but it isn’t designed for facial use.

The directions are pretty straightforward. You need to soften your skin in the shower or bath for 5 minutes without soap first. This is important, as the soapy stuff will stop the mitten working properly – so if you are a bath person, don’t put bubbles in the water till later.

If you have access to a steam room at home (lucky you!) or at your gym this is a great option too.

After 5 or 10 minutes, you come out of the water (turn your shower off, let’s not waste water), and use quite firm up and down strokes on each area. It will take a bit of judgement to know how firm you need to be, but it’s basically firm enough to see the dead skin rolling away after a few strokes but obviously not so hard that it hurts and you end up red raw!

Then notice how easily body cream or oils are absorbed afterwards.

And finally be amazed at how smooth and fresh your skin feels and looks. Then quickly become addicted and look forward to doing it all over again next time 🙂

What Do I Think?

In conclusion, it’s a really good product which can give you great results. It does cost a little more than a cheap supermarket mitt, but it is so worth it as the results are simply in a different league.

My only criticism is that whilst the quality of the mitt is good, it’s not quite as good as the Baiden mitten, so it doesn’t look like it will last as long. I think on balance the Baiden mitt has the edge but then it does cost significantly more than the Dermasuri.

So Where Can I Buy The Dermasuri Mitt?

The Dermasuri Deep Exfoliating Mitt is available directly from Amazon.com here. It’s currently priced at $19.99, and should come with free shipping if you can top your order up with one or two other small items you need.
